MULTI-AXIS PNEUMATIC VORTEX CONTROL AT HIGH SPEED AND LOW ANGLE-OF-ATTACK
- Researched the dynamic modeling and control of multi-axis Pneumatic Vortex Control (PVC) devices as applied to fighter-type aircraft at high speeds and low angles-of-attack. Constructed a high fidelity nonlinear, non real-time, six degree-of-freedom simulation code of the F-16XL equipped with forebody, wing, and vertical tail PVC devices. Evaluated required engine bleed air massflow levels and controller requirements for large amplitude, full envelope test maneuvers, including simulated tactical penetration strike missions.
